No Review For Spartacus

After listening to 'the View of Crowds' and 'Sunlight Through Dusty Air', I decided I'd take it upon myself to view the rest of your submissions to the Audio Portal.

I love what you've done to this piece. You've placed it into a very spaced-out, ambient arrangement with more than enough time to breathe throughout.

The heavy reverb is beautiful, shall we say, and gives a very smooth and almost (as has been said with some of your pieces before, I believe) daydream-like feel to it.

Top marks for this. Well arranged, excellent sounding.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Hey Kane, Thanks a lot for the review (And for the others ) I'm glad you enjoy this piece. I've heard some people dislike the heavy reverb - but i cant change it, i just cant. I like it the way it is too much. So I'm glad to hear you like it too! I hope 'ol Evans would enjoy it - as well as any of his fans / the jazz community.

What Reviews The Most

Ah, man...

This takes me back to when I was like... 14... driving in my mates cars down the motorway blaring Bonkers as loud as the sound system would crank up.

Just for taking me back to good times, as well still being pretty Bonkers-worthy, top marks for both, mate. Top shizzle!

Zionn responds:

thx m8 :D
I love this song too xD
it's almost what I fell.....just ended with my girlfriend *snif* *snif*

Machined Factorized Carrot Review

Bring on the Aphex!

This is pretty hectic. A frenzied acid trip by the amazonian river as your sourroundings glitch and jar awkwardly away from you, leaving you feeling disorientated, scared, and wanting more to happen.

yeah, I wish I could make it longer too :(

seriously aphex? wow thanks a lot :D And I like your story too!

No Review. No Fate.

Jazz chording with Aphex Twin style drumming.

If you're not going to produce this into a full song, then fair play, but I believe it would be pretty mad as a full song.

More hectic drumming, some heavy hitting ambient piano mixes and more synth pads. Would be excellent.

S3C responds:

I would like to produce this into a full track, but I dont have the project file :( (made with the demo of FL)

Thanks for the review and suggestions, once again! I like your review style btw, hehe :)

The Review of Crowds

Him/her below me took the words right out of my mouth!

Sounds like an influence from David Firth here?

Very moving, soft and beautiful piece with some odd cuts and drum beats as well as the sounds all in all giving a rather strange feel, but at the same time... very beautiful.

The sounds utilised and the difference of the dynamics between lines gives me the impression of it being peacful, but at the same time, extravagantly hectic. I can see what you mean when you say 'The View of The Crowds from the Thirty-Ninth.'

Peace in their mind, but not by their eyes.

You get top on both for this, and I'm downloading it.

Ah man, thats awesome.
Great review! (might I add "the review of crowds" punny title : D )
David Firth? Oddly enough, i have never heard that name before.
I'll definitely have to look him up though.

The song was influenced from one of my favorite bands "Motoro Faam"

exactly right though: Peace in their mind, but not by their eyes.
like a general watching his soldiers win the frontlines.

thank you for the vote!

Review Through Rampaging Portals

Beautiful introduction. Grasps the listener immediately!

Very much like Aphex Twin and The Orb, I would say. Not really what I class and DnB but more ambient. If you're looking for Ambient DnB however, Aphex Twin's Flim is without a doubt the most superb of that genre.

I can see myself lying down on a beach somewhere with a tinny, having this play through soem speakers with the bass boost on full. Magical, and a somwhat whymsical piece.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

Thank you again : D

Yeah, you know, im never sure what to genre to put my stuff in. I wish they had an "IDM" category. Or something of that sort. Think i'll switch it to Ambient? if i can.

Do you listen to any Flashbulb or Telefon Tel Aviv?? If not! You should!

Heh heh, that'd be a lovely time on the beach like that. I wish i wasnt in the midwest. >: |

Shakes...

Like listening to a horror movie with a head FULL of acid and Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) staring at you attentively with his toothy grin.

Distorted, disturbing and dirty.

Only reason this isn't getting anymore than 8 and 4 is mainly due to it's sheer repetetivness. Needs to change somewhere down the line or perhaps build on by adding more layers and melodies... more notably any flattened fith from the root of those notes which make the melody.

Lol it's SUPPOSED to be extremely repetitive xD

Chill indeed.

Juno Reactor meets Aphex Twin meets Fabio.

Good breakdowns and drum fills. Chilled out, atmopsheric number with a somewhat very busy melody, especially towards the end.

The song seems to reflect (or at least so I can see) a particular scene. As the song begins, a man stands outside his bedroom window looking down at the traffic on a busy stretch of New York City. He begins to get dressedin his bathroom mirror; shaving, spraying cologne, sorting his short hair out. As the song progresses by becoming more and more busy and hectic, so does the life that he leads. Albeit by drugs, alcohol, or partying in general is whatever the listener decides upon, before eventually the song ends and finshes with the same scene as the beginning. Him standing outside his window, but his eyes black with lack of sleep and his skin pale.

That's my view anyway. Very, very good. Respect.

Krupinkin responds:

Thank you!
Espesially imagin you are driving your fast car after a hard day. Passing through the tunnel, something to keep that mood.
Yeah was bad idea to call it relaxing lol.

Simple!

Simplicity makes some of the best music.

This is simple, good chord progression and the bass is very 'cool'. Nice sound achieved with it and would be if you could progress it into a full song.

Very good stuff though!

NesUser responds:

Thanks and I sort of gave up the whole music thing. However if I get more responses like this I would be happy to start up again. Thanks.
